Because I am now on disability I have had many talks with my employer doctors etc. During these talks I get so tired and confused I leave there and have no idea what was discussed or agreed upon. Therefore I always take my husband with me. I also have the added problem of having to do all these things in Dutch when English is my main language. I can understnad and speak Dutch but it is tiring to do it for any length of time.

Over the last year or so I have many examples of things that happen because of my concentration and memory problems. I have learned to try and write everything down that I need to remember. Some things i have done is 1) leave the water running to fill the sink for the dishes. 3 times I have walked back into the kitchen to a floor full of water 2) Last year my husband and I went to get things for the garden. I had picked out all the plants I wanted when my husband said do we need soil and a shovel and.... this all got too be too much for me so I left everything and went home 3) If it wasn't for my husband reminding me that day I would have forgotten countless appointments

oh yessss ive missed lots of appointments too, im terrible i have a pin board a diary and a calander and i write it all on everything as not to forget and i remind myself the day before and still forget i had to go out!!
i leave the cooker on and forget to put food in it or forgot i was cooking altogether, hubby usually checks for me when cooking...
i have also stressed when shopping i look for something but i cant think what it is or the shop moves it and i get more annoyed... but it all upsets me,.. and i get upset over nothing really but its all too much for my little brain cells.......

Oh yes I leave the gas on when I am done cooking all the time. Hubby goes behind me and checks constantly. That sometimes annoys me as well since I feel like a child or a senile old lady but I know the possibility I left something on is pretty big so it is for our safety that he does it

my cooker is electric so i cant smell ive left it on,
lol, yes i sometimes feel that i cant cope or do things when hubby checks for me, but at the same time he does it so we dont have to cook twice and dont burn the house down..
it does make you feel like a ol' lady or loosing ya marbles....
ive said that... i was doing something and i said 'oh my gwad im loosing my marbles' and my little boy said 'where are they ill find them' awwwwww bless...

that all sounds so familiar..
i constantly have conversations i have no memory of..i walk through my day in a fog as if nothing is happening around me.. the building could collapse and i wouldnt notice. i feel like i am in my own little world.. and before i found out about fibro, i just thought i was nuts/stupid/inattentive/careless
i once turned the gas on the stove on.. and it was on for 5 minutes.. and i didnt realize..i shut it off and opened the windows. never told anyone about that. constantly turn water on and leave the room.. its like that old saying, out of sight out of mind.. as soon as my back is turned i forget. i can pour a cup of coffee and walk out of the room forgetting it there.

Is the memory loss a symptom of fibro too? Everyone laughs at me because my memory is so bad! I had no idea it had anything to do with this, just wait till I tell everyone! (If I remember lol

yes it is a symptom.. a part of that fog.. i always thought i just had a bad memory, now i know why... one thing that helps me is to keep lists.. i make a list before going to the store, and keep it in my hand otherwise i forget that its in my pocket.. i make a list of things to do in the day, and cross them off to remember i did them.. when i make dinner, i lay everything out on the counter first, so i dont forget the beans or the sauce for the meat, or whatever.. if something is cooking, i leave the light in the kitchen on so seeing it triggers my memory that something is cooking.. otherwise my pots would all be burned through the bottoms

All thse things sound so familiar. It is good to know I am not loosing my mind or being lazy. I used to be a great cook but now I forget what I am doing and burned or overcook alot of things. I also make lists but forget where I put them or forget to look at them. I have a calender hanging on the wall that I write down all the important appointments on but I usually don't see what I missed until a few days later. My partner has to pay all the bills or they won't get paid and if something has to be done on a particular day he leaves it on the table and even then when he comes home sometimes it is not done.

that sounds familiar.. i have a big calendar on the wall, and started charting my cycles.. one colour for migraines, one colour for period days, one colour for major mood swings.. another colour for anything note worthy.. its interesting to see a pattern emerge.. i no longer forget when my last period started, and i can see what to expect

the fogg is usually apart of fibro' but you can suffer the fog' known as chronic fatigue syndrome which used to be called .M.E.
If you just suffer M.E you get bad fogg headaches and some mild other pains.. but its mainly headaches fogg and shoulder pains..!!!!
fibro' suffers get the fogg ontop.... look at 'fms-cfs' 'reads only, it gives info' that some sufferers suffer and some dont..
ie: my sis in-law have FMS M.E AND RAYNUADS AND MANY OTHER THINGS STILL BEING TESTED FOR..
i have costo chondritis (chest pains) fibro and fatigue (m.e)

i just had a laugh.. had a thought of how great it would be if we could get a weather forecast every morning..on our day ahead..
fibro fog in the morning, with a light rain (crying tears) in the early afternoon.. cold feet in the evening.. watch for a tornado of mood swings tomorrow!
hahaha

ROTFLMAO That is funny...too bad we couldn;'t have predictor like that though. Would be great for the partners to know what to expect and for us to be able to plan our day accordingly
