just a simple few things about it.. a illness that effects many people... think of going down the gym and over doing it a bit.... well people with FMS have to live like this more or less daily, and not have to lift a finger.... From FAYEBEAR'S WEB SITE: www.angelfire.com/zine2/fayebear/index.htmlWhat is Fibromyalgia? FM is a chronic debilitating condition affecting nearly every area of the body. Causing the patient to be in constant pain. Pain, stiffness, headaches, sleep problems, Myofascial pain, dizziness, fatigue, are just to name a few of the symptoms. How is FM diagnosed? Unfortunatly there is no blood test to diagnose this condition. There are tender points throughout the body that helps the doctor in determining if it is FM. Usually 11 tender points out of the 18. What causes FM? There can be a number of causes for this condition. Perhaps an illness, or some kind of trauma. There is no one thing that causes it, nor can it be prevented. Is there a cure for FM? No. Unfortunately there is not a cure. Altho, there are lifestyle changes that can be made to help cope with it. How many people have FM? Millions of people are suffering with this. Old and young alike, as well as men and women. Fibromyalgia does not discriminate against age, race, or sex. What can I do if I think I have FM? First of all, you need to find an understanding doctor. This is the most important of them all. This is brushed off quite often as being "all in your head". This can be very hurtful when trying to get a diagnosis. Second, educate yourself all you can and learn all you can about Fibromyalgia.
