Hi My name is Ellen and I was diagnosised with CFS in August 2001. I was one of the "lucky " ones as it was only 7 months of suffering before I was diagnosised. I have heard of many people who suffer for years without knowing what they have. I did lots of research myself and with the help of my husband and presented the findings to my family doctor who referred me right away to a CFS specialist. I live in the Netherlands and I am 34 years old. For me it all started after many stressful months of leaving my husband, moving from Canada to the Netherlands, starting a new relationship and a new job and the having the flu 4 times in 2 months. After that I was never the same again. I was on sick leave for a year and now am on disability ( Luckily for me the dutch system for employees works very well and at least I still have some income) I was only into by new relationship about 6 months when all this started and some days I worry he will have enough of me and move on but he is a wonderful man has stuck by me through thick and thin. Then to top off all this misery we lost our first child at 17 weeks pregnancy in Oct 2001. The doctors assure me that it has nothing to do with the CFS. A friend of mine found this group and referred me to it and I hope it gets up and running very soon. So far what I have seen looks great

hi ellen im glad you have found us,
im going to copy and paste your post to 'about me' under fibro' pain, so then others can see it, as it could get lost here sooon after many peeps join..
i dont tink CFS would have caused your pregnancy loss, apart from the pills, that dont usually mix with pregnancy, though the doc;s advise not to go through pregnancy as it can make you feel worse.. i want to but at the moment in two minds, lucky i cant as hubby been snipped.. oh well hugs xx

Thanks for pasting my into into the proper place. I don't think the pregnancy loss is CFS related either. I wasn't using the meds then and I am still not on them because I want to get pregnant again. Although on my bad days I wonder if this is a good decision. The doctor assure me the meds won't hurt a baby but I am not taking the chance of something happening again and feeling guilty for it.

yes i can understand, that, there was a article in the news paper a boy was born with no eyes, and dr's usually blame it on women drinking pilling etc, but this woman didnt do none of that apart from spray some gardn stuff on her vegi patch, and she thinks thats what could be a cause to her son. and she blames her self in ways..... awwww bless,
as long as you can cope congrats on the littlen when it arrives, if you get pains, try using a heat cushion to help comfort the pain, wheat bag.. they can be found over the net ive linked it up in links, and you can find them in hardwear shops or catalogues....
