Hi My name is Ellen and I was diagnosised with CFS in August 2001. I was one of the "lucky " ones as it was only 7 months of suffering before I was diagnosised. I have heard of many people who suffer for years without knowing what they have. I did lots of research myself and with the help of my husband and presented the findings to my family doctor who referred me right away to a CFS specialist. I live in the Netherlands and I am 34 years old. For me it all started after many stressful months of leaving my husband, moving from Canada to the Netherlands, starting a new relationship and a new job and the having the flu 4 times in 2 months. After that I was never the same again. I was on sick leave for a year and now am on disability ( Luckily for me the dutch system for employees works very well and at least I still have some income) I was only into by new relationship about 6 months when all this started and some days I worry he will have enough of me and move on but he is a wonderful man has stuck by me through thick and thin. Then to top off all this misery we lost our first child at 17 weeks pregnancy in Oct 2001. The doctors assure me that it has nothing to do with the CFS. A friend of mine found this group and referred me to it and I hope it gets up and running very soon. So far what I have seen looks great copied from the general forum

Sorry I didn't realize there was an intro section. I used to be very active and loved it. I worked 50 hours a week taking care of children. I had a son and husband and I kept a spotless house. Now I can barely keep up with keeping m home somewhat organized. Most of my problems are fatigue, aches and pains in shoulder, neck and back. Pains in joints like elbows and wrists. I usually don't have too much trouble with my legs though. I have very itchy skin, trouble concentrating and from everything I get depressed. Because I was put on disability i was recommended I see a physcologist. Luckily for me he said he couldn't do anything for me since what I had wasn't in my head and for the things I need to talk about I had a good partner to support me.

I don't have the kids to keep me busy. My son ( who I adopted but is my ex husbands biological so ) stayed in Canada when I moved here. He was 14 and we all figured it was best he stayed there. My new husband and I have lost our first son in pregnancy and are now trying to conceive again. That is not going as quickly as we had hoped and every month that gets to me as well. But overall I am in good spirits and my husband is wonderful and helpful.

awww sounds quite traumatic, having to leave a littlen well, he was a big bigger, behind, but its best to let them be where they know..!!
dont give up, hope and try too hard for a baby, ive seen so many peeps try too hard that it doesnt happen for them and they end up making them selves ill over it, relax and nature will come when its ready but you do have to be ready... we are here for you....
hugs x
